Most teams meet their first mental health crisis without a plan.

We build the protocol before the moment arrives — risk assessment, de-escalation, safety planning, and documentation your staff can actually follow under pressure.

The gap

A policy that says “call 911” is not a crisis protocol. It's a sentence in a binder.

When someone becomes suicidal in a waiting room, discloses abuse to a case manager, or escalates at a front desk, the response falls to whoever is standing there. In most organizations that person has never been trained for it, has no framework for judging risk, and has no idea what to write down afterward.

CarePath Consulting Solutions closes that gap. We work with clinical practices and with organizations that have no mental health staff at all, turning a vague duty of care into a written, rehearsed sequence — who assesses, what they say, when to escalate, who to call, and how the encounter is documented.

Our services

Three ways we make your organization ready.

Before & during

Crisis Strategy

Practical training that helps your team support individuals experiencing a mental health crisis — including risk assessment, de-escalation, and safety planning, taught in the language and setting your staff actually work in.

  • Risk assessment framework staff can apply in minutes, not hours
  • De-escalation practice built on real scenarios from your setting
  • Safety planning and clear escalation thresholds
  • Warm handoff pathways to crisis lines, mobile teams, and higher levels of care
After

Mental Health Documentation

Step-by-step guidance on how to document the encounter and the support given — protecting both your team and the individual, and leaving a record that holds up to review.

  • Encounter and risk-assessment templates matched to your workflow
  • Language standards for what to record, and what not to
  • Debrief process so a real event improves the next response
Ongoing

Practice Consulting

Tailored consulting designed to improve mental health outcomes for the individuals your organization supports — from program design to staff capability to the pathways between you and the rest of the care system.

  • Review of current policy, referral pathways, and gaps
  • Program and workflow design for behavioral health integration
  • Clinical consultation for non-clinical leadership teams

Who we work with

Anyone whose staff may be the first person in the room.

Clinical practices

Medical groups, primary care, and specialty practices without embedded behavioral health.

Non-profits

Community organizations serving high-need populations with limited clinical staffing.

Schools & youth programs

Teams supporting adolescents, where risk disclosure often lands on a non-clinician.

Public-facing employers

Front-desk, service, and field teams who encounter crisis without a mental health mandate.

How an engagement works

Four steps, in order, every time.

Most engagements run four to eight weeks. Scope and pacing are set after the first conversation.

01

Listen

We walk through your current process, recent incidents, staffing, and who is actually present when something happens.

02

Design

You get a written protocol built for your setting — decision points, scripts, escalation thresholds, and local referral pathways.

03

Train

Live sessions and scenario practice with the people who will use it, not just the leadership team that approved it.

04

Sustain

Documentation templates, refresher training, and a debrief structure so each real event strengthens the protocol.

Who directs the work

A practicing clinician, not a curriculum vendor.

Alexus Lambert is a Licensed Clinical Social Worker who has spent her career on the assessment side of mental health crisis — thousands of risk assessments across an integrated health system, community behavioral health, and youth services. She has served as a subject matter expert on complex mental health needs, supported a regional psychiatry department with urgent crisis referrals, and led teams delivering community-based care.

Her consulting work draws on the systems side as well: health equity and social-determinants strategy for a statewide managed care organization, quality measure improvement, and a national accreditation pilot. That combination is the point. Protocols have to be clinically sound and they have to survive contact with real staffing, real documentation requirements, and real operational constraints.

Scope of practice

CarePath Consulting Solutions provides organizational consulting, protocol development, and staff training. We do not provide emergency response, and we do not deliver therapy or clinical treatment to your clients, patients, or employees.

Our role is to make sure that when a crisis happens, your people know what to do, who to call, and what to write down.
